Growing up

Around three months old, mom and dad noticed I was growing up fast.  They weren't expecting this so soon!

- For example, they found me taking the ciuccio (pacifier) out of my mouth, holding it perfectly between my finger and thumb, and putting it back in.

- I'm sleeping for longer periods at night.

- When I'm really hungry, and mom and dad are slowly bringing the bottle to my mouth, I grab it with both hands and shove it in my mouth.

- When I'm done eating, I literally push the bottle away.  When they try to put it back in, I block it with my hand like the karate kid, and quickly extend my arm.

- I hold small toys, stuffed animals, and balls with holes in it, and can reach out and grab plastic rings.

- I flash a big smile at my parents when we make eye contact from across the room, and laugh and giggle when they tickle me.

- I've started to talk and can say:  agooo...abu....ahhgg...boo....grrr....

- I'm starting to roll from my back to my side (but still have no interest in practicing tummy time - I can't figure out what my arms are for, so I arch my body like a dolphin, fingers pointing toward my feet.)

- My teeth must be coming soon, because I'm drooling a lot and sucking on my entire hands.

- And now when mom is reading me a book, I study the pictures closely, smile, and reach out to touch the pages.

They're already feeling a bit nostalgic about how fast this newborn phase is passing, but love all the daily surprises.  As for me, I better go now.  I have to prepare for tomorrow's new trick.

Yours truly - Baby G.
