Ciao, sorry I'm getting so behind in my posts! You may have heard through the grapevine…I went to Italy this August. But before I tell you all about it (in another post - sorry - just not enough time/energy these days) I wanted to quickly update you on my 19th month.
The main news is....I got my first real haircut at a salon (my 7th haircut so far!) I did great - was quiet and still the whole time. (Which is the opposite of how I am when my mom tries to cut my hair.)

Don't I look dapper?
Not too much else to report, other than I enjoyed all my classes, my sleeping finally improved, I got on a good schedule, and I learned how to jump REALLY well. I still love dancing (and now have different dance styles depending on the music), coloring (including on the brick fireplace, oops), running, and playing with my trains, tractors, cars…basically, anything "that goes." I still love books, and am starting to memorize words in those we read regularly, and am progressing on the verbal front with short sentences: "I found it. I found the ciuccio." "Hi Pheobe, how are you, Pheobe?" "I see you." I'm also developing an imagination, e.g. making a "helicopter" out of play-dough and flying it, and initiating peek-a-boo games with my parents, cats or stuffed animals.
As for my favorite CDs these days, I'm always asking for "Stones" (as in Rolling Stones), or "SHAKIRA!" (with a big shout). My dad is trying to push a Best of Mozart CD but I'm not too convinced yet that it's my style. And of course I still love all my Italian CDs, though I think I overdosed on some of the Disney fairy tale songs (like "I Tre Porcellini" - The 3 Little Pigs).
We also have new neighbors across the street…including a little boy a couple months older than me. I can't wait to become friends! From what we've seen so far, though, he seems much calmer than I am. When his mom is sweeping in the front yard, or picking up leaves, he actually stands near her, watching. I, on the other hand, take off running down the sidewalk the moment I'm out the front door. My mom explained to his mom that I'm very independent. And physical. Great qualities when I'm older, apparently.
I will try to write again as soon as I can...
Gotta go!

Nonna's birthday lunch
I love Nonno's bastone (cane)!
My first scab and it's in the shape of a heart
Zoning out listening to beautiful music
Circles, circles!
Channeling my inner Cuban :)
