Hi again! Now that I have a minute, I thought I'd update you on how school is going. Here I am at my favorite spot - the truck table. :)
Everything is going pretty well. Sometimes I still say I don't want to go (it's a long day away from home), but for the most part, I leave easily now in the morning and am used to the routine. At school, I love playing with trucks and cars (no surprise!), and also love storytime, dancing and music. I'm also making friends (one is named Bruce Lee), and get along well with the other kids. In fact, I recently saw a picture of some of us on a field trip to a farm, and I shouted in joy, "Hey! It's my family!" with a big smile on my face. :)

In terms of feedback, the teachers told my mom I have "SO MUCH ENERGY!" and am "VERY excited about everything." The director also said that whenever she sees me, I'm always focused and engaged in a project, have a good vocabulary, and seem mature for my age. So that's all good.
That said, I'm not always Mr. Sunshine at school...I've been known to push limits and sometimes ignore directions. But the teachers told my mom not to worry, because overall I'm doing great and the challenging behavior is very "age appropriate."

[On a side note: I guess that explains my challenging behavior at home, as well! A good example is refusing to sit in my carseat while laughing and jumping from one seat to another, front and back seats, out of my mom's reach - for 35 minutes! - when we have to be somewhere. Or throwing the mother of all tantrums when I don't want to be changed...

...Truth be told, taking care of me sometimes requires super-human patience. I've got high energy, a strong personality, and am a fierce negotiator. But lucky for my mom, she seems to have figured out some strategies recently that work! I heard her talk to my dad about things like "leverage" and "consequences" and "incentives" that I didn't understand. Since then, I've been listening MUCH better, so whatever she's doing seems to be working. I've also turned up the charm, big time. Like at night or very very early in the morning, when I call from my room "Mommmmy, come here..." and she wearily calls back from bed, "Whyyyy....?" and I respond sweetly, "Because I love you..." She has a hard time resisting that. Or when I wrap my arms around my parents and squeal, "I love you sooo much!" or sweetly cuddle with them in my new big-boy bed as I drift off to sleep...]

Anyways, back to school! One final note is that I catch more colds, which means that instead of going to school two times a week, I often go just once, then am home sick the other day. No fun.
I better go now...I hope you enjoy these pictures from school. I will post pictures from my hiking adventures next.
